I am a graduate in Performance from the ANU School of Music, where I received a Ruth Pfanner scholarship. I have been playing brass instruments since the age of ten, and was awarded a full scholarship to Perth Modern School in Western Australia – the most prestigious specialist music school in that state.
I have led the trombone section of Orchestras, Wind Bands, Brass Bands, Big Bands and Combos. I have performed with many of Australia’s major orchestras, and dozens of other professional and semi-professional ensembles. I am currently principle trombone of Canberra City Band, Canberra Brass, and Spectrum Big Band, and I gig casually with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, the Canberra Youth Orchestra, and Canberra International Festival of Music.
I am also a Director of:
– The Bone Project: Canberra’s trombone choir – The Hoffman Brass – Foundry Brass
In all I am a member of 13 ensembles around Canberra.
I offer lessons on euphonium, trombone (alto, tenor and bass), tuba, cimbasso, baritone, tenor horn, and occasionally trumpet, and flugelhorn.
I also hold degrees in several other disciplines.
